Today, I want to talk about my five LinkedIn career tips. 1. Customize your LinkedIn URL. Its very simple and will take you two minutes. There are two reasons to do this: Its far more professional. Google and its algorithm visits to your LinkedIn profile instantly. This will give you a 400% uplift in searches by decision makers. 2. Take a professional picture. The main reason for this is that Google and its algorithm will give you a 1,400% uplift. You want as many visits as you can get. And this helps decision makers detect you on LinkedIn. 3. Have a very compelling, seductive and enticing introduction about yourself. Use every single character that is available in the heading on LinkedIn to sell yourself. 4. Dont waste space. There are many sections in LinkedIn. Utilize each section to market yourself and tell a compelling story of your career history and what a great person you are. Be sure to have your key words that are pertinent to you, so that recruiters are finding you first. 5. Sell yourself. Show all of your accomplishments. Include your main STAR (situation, task, action, result) stories in your description. And you can make it very long. The goal is for you to be found by decision makers when theyre looking for talent. You want to be found not just once but ten times. Resumes, cover letters, and your LinkedIn profile are very crucial to your career.
